Ruby is readily available from good jewellers. Try to think of something alternative this year, perhaps combine it with the Modern list gift of a watch, or see if a jeweller could combine it with crystal (perhaps check with a place like Swarovski).
TWENTIETH YEAR - EMERALD
Emerald is readily available from good jewellers. Perhaps combine it with the Modern list gift of Platinum (Blue Nile or Tiffany and Co.).
TWENTY FIFTH YEAR - SILVER
Silver is an easy to get and versatile metal; you can get all kinds of jewellery in silver, think outside the square!
THIRTIETH YEAR - PEARL
Pearls can come in all types of jeweller; try to go all out and go for Black Pearls!
THIRTY FIFTH YEAR - EMERALD
If you've already got Emerald from your 20th Anniversary, why not get a different kind of jewellery? Perhaps try to combine it with Coral and/or Jade to make it extra special.

Diamonds are a staple of the anniversary and general gift lists all over the world. Try to think right outside the box on this one as I'm sure diamonds have been part of previous gifts. Go to a jeweller who can custom-make items, not just rings.
SIXTY FIFTH YEAR - BLUE SPINEL
Blue Spinel is not common at all and not generally stocked by jewellers. Shop around for this one - it's worth it!
SEVENTIETH YEAR - SAPPHIRE
Sapphire is an easy gemstone to get made into all sorts of jewellery. Combining Platinum (Traditional US list) and Sapphire would be ideal for this anniversary - they go very well together.
Just make sure you don't get the same thing you may have for the 5th or 45th anniversary!
EIGHTIETH YEAR - RUBY
Ruby is a common jewel that you could get made up in almost anything you can think of. Why not combine it with Diamond and Pearls (Modern US list) to get something unique?
